On April 7th , Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Mr. Ariel Nepomuceno, Deputy Commissioner of the Bureau of Customs of the Philippines at the General Administration of China Customs.
Both sides made positive comments on the latest development in economic and trade relations between the two countries. Vice Minister Sun Yibiao put forward five suggestions for the next stage of cooperation: to increase bilateral exchanges and mutual understanding; to extensively participate in the “Belt and Road” initiative and deepen cooperation in mutual exchange of information, mutual recognition of inspection results and mutual assistance in law enforcement; to maintain close communication between anti-smuggling departments of both sides and strengthen enforcement cooperation in combating drug trafficking and commercial fraud; to share experiences in customs technical equipment, use of inspection equipment and exchange professionals so as to improve skills in customs control and management.
Both sides also exchanged views on the signing of a bilateral customs cooperative document in due time.
