On October 23, Shenzhen Customs announced that its post office earlier seized 148 python skins in an inbound express post.

Python is listed in Appendix II of the “Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora” (CITES) as well as China’s Class-I protected animals. In accordance with the CITES and relevant Chinese laws, such endangered wildlife and their products are prohibited from cross-border trade, carry and post without official import/export permit, or the law breaker may be prosecuted for criminal liability.
