On April 27, Zhengzhou Customs, together with Henan Province Anti-Smuggling Office, conducted harmless destruction of 207-ton smuggled frozen food on the site of Chuying Agro-Pastoral Group. The frozen foods were seized in 2015. It was the first time for Henan province to conduct centralized destruction of frozen foods.
Henan is an important meat production and consumption province. Frozen food smuggling not only disturbs normal import-export order but also impacts livestock raising and meat processing enterprises in the province.
On the destroying site, Zhengzhou Customs, by working with Chuying Agro-Pastoral Group, destroyed the frozen foods in an environment-friendly way. Harmless processing technicians firstly broke the packages; secondly used forklifts to put the food into digestion tanks; then employed computer system to segment, dehydrate, heat and ferment the frozen food; through high-temperature treatment, the frozen food would be turned into organic fertilizers.
Customs officers were counting smuggled frozen food to be destroyed.
Smuggled frozen food was being processed in a harmless way.
