According to Fuzhou Customs statistics, from January till June, the export of express goods by sea from Mawei Port to Taiwan increased greatly, recording 141,300 declarations, up 4.35 times year-on-year, cargo value of 61.7848 million yuan, up 5.77 times year-on-year and cargo quantity of 588.64 tons, up 8.59 times year-on-year, involving daily necessities, garments, footwear, and electronic products.

Facing the surge in Taiwan-oriented express volume, besides anti-epidemic efforts, Mawei Customs House actively contacted express exporters to give policy guidance, online processed cargo declarations, release and transit across multiple IT platforms and, with simplified procedures, reduced the clearance time for each container by 2 hours in the mode of “risk assessment + advance control + inspection by group + synchronous release”.
