Lanzhou Customs Busts Illegal Entry of Endangered Species and Relevant Products

Recently in Lanzhou Customs District, customs officers inspected an inbound flight from Luang Prabang of Laos and intercepted two Chinese passengers carrying ivory products in their luggage; specifically, the concealed ivories were 2 bangles and 1 string of bracelet, weighing 213 grams in total.

 

Since this year, Lanzhou Customs has been doing its utmost, by means of close control and smart check, to combat smuggling and illicit trading of endangered species and relevant products such as ivory; so far, the Customs has seized 5 illegal cases that such articles were carried in by passengers without declaration, including 14 ivory products (538.5 grams in total), 10 antelope horns (871 grams in total), and giant clam products (246 grams in total).
