On May 13, Minister Yu Guangzhou of the General Administration of China Customs (GACC), Vice Minister Sun Yibiao and Zhang Guangzhi (Member of the Board, GACC), met with Mr. Jangebayev, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Financial Ministry of Kazakhstan, and his delegation at the Headquarters of GACC.

Yu Guangzhou welcomed Jangebayev to the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Jangebayev spoke highly about the Belt and Road initiative and expressed his gratitude for being invited to the Forum. He expressed that Kazakhstan was willing to cooperate closely with China Customs under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Both sides exchanged views and reached consensus on such topics as the alignment of the (Chinese) Silk Road Economic Belt and the (Kazakhstan) Bright Road, enhancement of Customs clearance facilitation, cooperation on trade security, promotion on connectivity projects at borders, and collaboration on regular meeting mechanism among heads of Customs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

During the meeting, Yu Guangzhou and Jangebayev jointly signed the Technical Arrangement on Implementing Mutual Trust Project between China and Kazakhstan Customs.
