Vice Minister Zou Zhiwu Meets Director General of Swedish Customs

On October 22, Vice Minister Zou Zhiwu met with Ms. Therese Mattson, Director General of Swedish Customs in Stockholm. Both sides exchanged their recent progress of development and spoke highly of the achievement in cooperation between the two Customs.

 

Vice Minister Zou made seven proposals on strengthening bilateral cooperation. Firstly, the two administrations should promote cooperation in trade facilitation to improve compliance and facilitation. Secondly, both sides should enhance law enforcement cooperation in solid waste control and combating smuggling in order to provide sound environment for bilateral trade and economic development. Thirdly, the two Customs should engage in cooperation in IPR border protection to safeguard the lawful rights and interest of enterprises. Fourthly, both sides should actively participate in the cooperation under the China-EU Customs Framework and jointly promote the implementation of key cooperative projects. Fifthly, both sides should organize experience exchanges on the use of high-tech equipment in order to upgrade customs control efficiency. Sixthly, the two administrations should enhance their coordination and cooperation in the World Customs Organization. Seventhly, both sides should give full play to the role of their overseas offices.

 

Vice Minister Zou and Ms. Mattson signed the Action Plan on Strategic Cooperation Between China Customs and Swedish Customs for the Years of 2015-2017.
