11/16/2018

Customs officers inspect cross-border e-commerce goods.

On November 11 -- the Chinese “double 11” e-shopping carnival, Huangpu Customs District saw peak transactions at all of its cross-border e-commerce (CBEC) control sites. Therein, Dongguan Qiying International Express Center and the Customs-stationed Shatian Office cleared a total of 450,000 CBEC consignments, with commodities worth 52.785 million Yuan in total.

At Shatian customs-control site, it took only 30 minutes on average for CBEC freight vehicles to clear customs after they entered.

Ms. Ling, manager of Guangdong Kuajingda Company, said: “Earlier before the ‘double 11’ day, the Customs inquired us about the estimated volume of business during the peak season, hearing our demands and suggestions; through its efficient control and services, our goods got cleared as fast as possible, becoming a tangible benefit to us.”

"Just on November 11, the number of outbound parcels released by our Customs House reached 185,000 pieces; however, in the next few days, we will see the peak volume of clearance, with daily capacity up to 400,000 pieces,” said Mr. Gao Xiang, Deputy Director of Dongguan Customs House.

Also according to Mr. Gao, since the “Dongguan-Hong Kong” postal export was formally launched this August, during the “double 11” period, outbound posts, after cleared by Dongguan International Mail Exchange, will be transited by Dongguan Customs to Shenzhen Port and then, via smart checkpoint, be further transported to Hong Kong Airport for their worldwide delivery.
