Customs officers conduct on-site inspection
On June 2-6, 2018 China (Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition was held in Xining City, Qinghai Province in west China. To better serve the exhibition, Xining Customs actively contacted and coordinated relevant authorities to tailor a supervision and service plan for the Exhibition.
Xining Customs briefed the exhibition organizers in advance about the exhibition registration procedures, Customs supervision regulations and the duty exemption policies for bought-in exhibits; guided exhibitors to lodge declaration on the International Trade Single Window platform; applied advance verification on the entry declarations to standardize the declaration elements; timely resolved the manifests issues to improve the clearance efficiency; kept close contact with port-based Customs to keep informed of the status of the exhibits at the ports of entry; set up an exclusive counter to provide "one-stop" services for the procedures of declaration, quarantine, clearance, storage, retention and buy-in and provided on-site inspection and services at the exhibition venue.
For this Exhibition, Xining Customs processed a total of 61 batches of inbound carpets, totaling 27,000 square meters and a value of USD 990,000. The exhibitors included not only traditional carpet manufacturers from Iran, India, Afghanistan, Nepal, and Pakistan but also carpet distributors from such west countries as Germany and USA.
