Shantou Customs Seizes IPR-Infringing Perfumes to Export
03/25/2021

Recently, Shantou Customs seized 3 consignments of perfumes through unpacking inspection of 3 exports that were falsely declared as “daily plastics” and “glass artware”.

According to the inspectors, the perfumes were also suspected of IPR infringement as their packages were printed with the marks of “CHANEL”, “DIOR”, “GIORGIO ARMANI”, “HERMES” and “GIVENCHY” but the exporter had no certificate on trademark use authorization. Through customs enforcement, the IPR infringement was confirmed with relevant trademark owners. Now, the counterfeit perfumes, totaling 63,552 bottles, are detained under further investigation.

Since this year, Shantou Customs has been carrying out the “Soaring Dragon 2021” campaign, including crackdown on import/export counterfeits and boost in IPR publicity, so as to promote protection of IPR by raising people’s awareness.
