On March 17, Zhuhai Anlianruishi Technology Company Ltd. and Zhuhai Shichang Metals Ltd received Sino-US C-TPAT joint authentication from Gongbei Customs, meaning that the two companies have got the “VIP” qualification in the clearance of US Customs. Hereafter, their exports to America will enjoy favorable clearance and trade convenience such as lower inspection rates and faster clearance.
The C-TPAT, i.e. Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, is a cooperative program between the government and business circle carried out by US Customs and Border Protection after the “9.11” incident. In the principle of voluntary participation, the C-TPAT is intended to protect legal trade and combat terrorism and smuggling by Customs-enterprise cooperation. Since 2012, Gongbei Customs has worked many times with the US counterpart to authenticate 30 enterprises in the Customs District, and all of them have passed the authentication.
Heads of the two companies aforesaid indicated that the C-TPAT authentication would help them more easily enter international markets, especially the American market, and break trade barriers with trade initiative and “VIP” pass.
Last year, the total import and export value of Zhuhai city reached CNY296.22 billion, including CNY57.56 billion with the US, the largest trade partner, growing by 39.6%.
