Kunming Customs Quickens Release of Fresh and Live Products
09/09/2015

On August 7, Yunnan Chineng Trading Co., Ltd. imported 2.75 tons of fresh seafood such as prawns and crabs from Thailand. Based upon prior examination of documents, the clearance was completed within 10 minutes at the control spot of Kunming Changshui International Airport Customs House.

We import seafood everyday from Southeast Asian countries. For fresh and live products, time is of great importance. According to Customs officersadvice, we pay our tax online, said Li Changchun, Manager of the company. This year, Customs conducts an array of clearance reforms such as Paperless Clearance, Checkpoints Networking and Customs-CIQ 3-Singles Cooperationwhich have greatly saved our clearance time. With time guaranteed, we dare to place more orders.

For imported and exported fresh and live products, Kunming Customs District has set up a Green Window, implementing 24/7 clearance reservation service. Furthermore, a special channel is opened that enables packing and examination to be carried out simultaneously, so as to quicken the release.

Now, to further improve clearance efficiency, we have listed Kunming Changshui International Airport Customs House and Hekou Customs House (both affiliated to Kunming Customs District) as pilot units to conduct collective clearance for multi-batches of fresh fruits, vegetables and perishable goods, said a Kunming Customs officer. This mode is one of the 14 measures taken by Customs to support Yunnan provincial economic development.
