On September 28, the agricultural products Customs clearance "Green Channel" through Khorgos-Nur Zholy of China and Kazakhstan was officially opened. GACC Vice Minister Wang Lingjun attended the opening ceremony together with representatives from Kazakhstan State Revenue Committee, Agriculture Ministry and  Alma-Ata State Government at Nur Zholy road port, and delivered a speech. This marks the second China-Kazakhstan fast Customs clearance "Green Channel" for agricultural products, following the first one that connected China’s Bakty port and Kazakhstan’s Baktu port, and is a practical action by both sides to implement the consensus of the heads of the two states.

Vice Minister Wang pointed out in his speech that China customs is fully implementing the important directions of President Xi Jinping on opening wider to the outside world, and will take the functional advantages brought about by institutional reform to continuously strengthen practical cooperation with the Kazakhstan State Revenue Committee and Agriculture Ministry to introduce more high-quality Kazakhstan agricultural products to China market, creating better environment for bilateral trade, and further promoting the connection of China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative and Kazakhstan's new economic policy "Bright Road".

Agricultural products play an important role in bilateral trade between China and Kazakhstan. In the first half of 2019, the trade volume of agricultural products between China and Kazakhstan reached 310 million US dollars, of which China’s import accounts for 190 million, a notable increase of 47.5%. This year, China Customs has actively promoted China-Kazakhstan trade in agricultural products by signing market access agreements for 6 agricultural products with Kazakhstan counterparts, involving the export of Chinese duck meat to Kazakhstan and various agricultural products from Kazakhstan to China, such as wheat flour, flaxseed, dairy products, pork and camel hair. The opening of Khorgos-Nur Zholy "Green Channel" will further facilitate the trade in agricultural products between the two countries and better meet the consumption demand of the two peoples for high-quality agricultural products.
