The 15 controlled knives seizure by Xiamen Customs
On March 20, an officer of Xiamen Customs seized 15 controlled knives from the luggage carried by a Japanese passenger, which was the biggest case of passenger with controlled knives in this Customs District since this year.
That day, a Japanese male passenger arrived at Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport. Customs officers implemented a technically examination of his luggage and found many suspected metal sheets therein. Through open-box inspection, Customs officers seized 15 pieces of well-packed knives, their blades 26-centimeters long respectively, and finally identified them as controlled knives.
As per relevant regulations in GACC Announcement No. 46 of 2013, controlled knives shall fall into the restrictions on entry and exit. Passengers shall have the official permissions to take them inward and outward.
