Officers of Beilun Customs House (affiliated to Ningbo Customs District) opened a green channel and released efficiently a consignment of frozen yellowfin tuna on September 26.
The consignment of fish, with a weight of 49 tons and a street value of RMB520,000, was declared by Ningbo Fengsheng Foods Co.,Ltd. to be exported to Vietnam.
Seafood spoils easily and yellowfin tuna must be kept at a temperature that is below -60℃. “We used the Green Channel for the tuna. We opened the container for inspection the time it arrived and closed it as soon as the inspection was over. The container was sent back immediately to the frozen products area for refrigeration after it was labeled as ‘goods that could be released’”, said Ye, a Customs control officer on duty that day.
According to the statistics, the export value of the sea food and aquatic products of Ningbo city stood at RMB 3.24 billion for the first 8 months of the year, a year-on year increase of 14.7%.
