The 9th Meeting of the Customs Cooperation Sub-committee under the Framework of China-Russia Premiers Regular Meeting Committee Takes Place

On September 2, 2017, Minister YU Guangzhou of China Customs and Mr. Bulavin, Head of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, jointly presided the 9th Meeting of the Customs Cooperation Sub-committee under the Framework of China-Russia Premiers Regular Meeting Committee in Shanghai.

 

Both sides summed up the achievement resulted from the Subcommittee work, listened to the eight work reports concerning Customs control, trade statistics, law enforcement, intellectual property rights protection, risk management, revenue collection, training for Customs officers and collaboration between regional Customs offices. Accordingly, they identified work priorities for the ongoing cooperation.

 

Minister YU proposed that both sides should foster synergy for the alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative and those of Eurasian Economic Union, optimization and transformation of successful cooperative projects, promote the leading role played by the cooperation mechanism, and implement the agreement reached during the meeting. As a result, the two heads signed the Minutes of the 9th meeting of the China-Russia Customs Cooperation Subcommittee.

 

At the meeting, both sides also exchanged views and reached consensus on issues relating Customs cooperation after the enlargement of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, further cooperation on cross-border e-commerce, facilitation for the clearance of currency swap between both countries, and support for the International Customs Exhibition 2017 to be hosted by Russia.

 

Mr. ZOU Zhiwu, Vice Minister of China Customs and Mr. ZHANG Guangzhi, member of the CPC Leadership Group of GACC, attended the meeting.
