On August 28, 2017, Mr. ZOU Zhiwu, Vice Minister of China Customs met with Ms. Christine Stevenson, Acting Chief Executive and Comptroller of New Zealand Customs Service and Mr. John McKinnon, New Zealand’s Ambassador to China, in Beijing.

Both sides positively commented on the development of bilateral relations and customs partnership, inaugurated China-New Zealand Customs-to-Customs Executive Level Talks, and made in-depth exchange on a wide range of issues including being deeply involved in the Belt and Road initiative, promoting the implementation of China-New Zealand FTA and negotiations for an upgrade to it, making the AEO MRA facilitation measures be practicable, strengthening efforts to combat smuggling and enhancing capacity building cooperation. Both sides also exchanged views on cross-border e-commerce issues.
