On October 18, witnessed by President Xi Jinping and President Tabare Vazquez of Uruguay, Minister Yu Guangzhou and Mr. Astori, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Uruguay, jointly signed the Agreement Between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters.

The agreement provides an important institutional foundation for China and Uruguay Customs to carry out cooperation on mutual assistance, exchange of operation, technology and information, as well as on trade facilitation.
