Recently in Huangpu Customs District, 6 lorries from Italy were intercepted on their temporary entry at Xingang Customs House as a lot of live snails were found inside the lorries and the containers aboard. Through professional identification, all the seized snails were confirmed to be Eobania vermiculata, an alien invasive species posing serious threat to domestic agriculture, trade, ecosystem and human health. 

As per China’s Law on Entry-Exit Quarantine of Animals and Plants and Regulations on Entry-Exit Quarantine Process, the inbound lorries and their containers have been fumigated for pest elimination under the control of Xingang Customs.
