On March 17, Minister Yu Guangzhou and Vice Minister Sun Yibiao met with Dr. Ernest Moniz, United States Secretary of Energy at the headquarters of China Customs.

Minister Yu highly evaluated the practical partnership between China Customs and United States Department of Energy over the years and put forward proposals for advancing cooperation, including the enhancement of bilateral communications at the ministerial level, etc. Secretary Moniz applauded the proposals and further pointed out that both sides shared the same objective and should be committed to on-going dialogues and mutual assistance in future.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Yu and Secretary Moniz jointly signed the Statement of Intent for strengthening cooperation in specific areas.
