In early February, Changsha Customs District learned from a toy manufacturer based in Xiangtan Comprehensive Bonded Zone that it intended to switch to non-contact digital thermometer production based on its current facilities and workforce.   

In response, the subordinate Shaoshan Customs House guided the manufacturer to produce thermometers in the mode of “consigned processing”—undertaking tasks consigned by other domestic businesses outside the bonded zone. The government of Xiangtan City also gave key support to the enterprise’s production shift.

On February 17, Shaoshan Customs House fast cleared 5 processing equipment, domestically purchased by the enterprise, into the bonded zone;

On February 24, after receiving 4,000 sets of accessories from outside the bonded zone, the enterprise launched its thermometer production line;

On February 25, first-batch 100 thermometers were released by the Customs to local anti-epidemic frontlines.
