On September 5, Minister Yu Guangzhou met with Ms. Aly Van Berckel, General Director of the Administration of Netherlands Customs in Beijing.

Both sides reviewed bilateral economic cooperation and trade growth in recent years, as well as the accomplishments of China-Netherlands customs cooperation over the past 25 years.

Minister Yu made a five-point proposal for strengthening cooperation. Both sides should build a strategic partnership and develop long-term planning for future collaboration, engage more senior officials in training courses and seminars, find new ways to enrich port twinning cooperation and launch joint research programs, further engage in China-EU customs cooperation and increase coordination in multi-lateral affairs.

Ms. Berckel commended the progress in customs cooperation and expressed readiness to enhance an all-round partnership with China Customs.
