On November 19, 2015, Mr. Lü Bin, Vice Minister and Head of Guangdong Sub-Administration of the General Administration of Customs of China held bilateral talks respectively with Deputy Secretary of the Federal Revenue of Brazil & Director-Elect of the Capacity Building Directorate of the World Customs Organization (WCO), and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil in Brasilia.
Vice Minister Lü and Deputy Secretary of the Federal Revenue exchanged in-depth views and reached broad consensus on a range of areas, including further developing the relations of both customs, promoting the early implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil on Customs Mutual Administrative Assistance, intensifying cooperation on the mutual recognition of AEO programs, information technology, the procurement and supply of resources and equipments, especially the capacity building cooperation under the WCO framework.
Vice Minister Lü met with Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade and signed the Memorandum of Understanding for Technical Cooperation in External Merchandise Trade Statistics From 2015-2017 between the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade of Brazil, which symbolized the establishment of a formal cooperation mechanism on trade statistics of external merchandise between both sides. The two heads also exchanged in-depth views and reached consensus on learning from each other to improve trade statistics competence and giving the full play of statistics in promoting the bilateral trade, under the framework of China-Brazil High Level Coordination and Cooperation Committee.
