Zhengzhou Customs Ensures Import of 681 Australian Alpacas
11/20/2018

Customs officers inspect the inbound alpacas.

As reported by Zhengzhou Customs District, on the afternoon of November 12, 681 alpacas from Australia were delivered by a chartered plane to Xinzheng International Airport, marking the largest import batch of alpacas to Henan Province in recent years.

To ensure the import of these alpacas, Zhengzhou Customs earlier set up a special workgroup for entry quarantine, collaborating with the pre-inspection workgroup stationed in Australia, relevant airlines, freight forwarders, and airport administrations to integrate all procedures seamlessly; assigned professionals to the quarantine site in advance, who thoroughly disinfected the venue, forage grass and padding, for the purpose of epidemic prevention.

Reportedly, after the quarantine period, these alpacas will be transported to a livestock farm located in Shanxi Province for better breeding and scientific research.
