Minister Ni Yuefeng meets with Mr. Phil Hogan, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development
On June 27, Minister Ni Yuefeng paid a visit to the EU headquarters.
Minister Ni respectively met with Mr. Pierre Moscovici, European Commissioner for Economic and Finance Affairs, Taxation and Customs, and Mr. Phil Hogan, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development. During the meeting with Commissioner Moscovici, the two sides exchanged in-depth views on such issues as the continuous participation in the China-EU high level dialogue mechanisms, the revision of the Agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the European Community on Cooperation and Mutual Administrative Assistance in Customs Matters, as well as closer cooperation on China-EU Customs IPR protection, SSTL, AEO mutual recognition, and combating the illicit trafficking of solid wastes. During the meeting with Commissioner Hogan, the two sides exchanged in-depth views on such issues as SPS e-certificates, quarantine access of Chinese agricultural products to the EU and EU agricultural products to China, the attached documents for the imported food, as well as the regionalization of animal diseases.
On the same day, Minister Ni also held talks with Mr. Hermes Tang Yi-hoi, Commissioner of Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, and Mr. Vong Iao Lek, Director-General of Macao Customs Service who were there attending the annual session of the WCO Council. In addition, Minister Ni also met with Mr. Zhang Chi, Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Belgium, and visited China Customs staff who were working at the Mission of China to the EU and at the WCO.
