Dalian Customs Seizes Smuggled-In Rhino Horns
02/01/2019

Recently at Dalian Airport, local Customs officers, when controlling an inbound flight from Hong Kong, seized 4 articles suspected to be rhino horns packed by biscuit boxes in a piece of passenger-registered luggage.

Totaling 2,710 grams in weight, the 4 horns were later identified to be rhinoceros horns by National Forestry Administration’s wildlife testing center. Now, this case is under further investigation by the Customs Anti-Smuggling Bureau.

Customs reminder: Without official permits for import and export, it is illegal to post or carry inward/outward endangered wildlife and relevant products listed in the appendixes of the “Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora” (CITES). And Customs authority will confiscate such illegal articles and those incompliant will be punished by law.
