The First Sanya International Flower Tourism Festival is held in Sanya, Hainan Province from December 20, 2019 to February 29, 2020. This Flower Festival is helpful to flower-tourism industrial integration and international exchange and thus will make the city of Sanya into the world-class flower production base and trading market.

Among the exhibits, there were not only 176 exquisite orchids from Taiwan and Hong Kong of China, but also many flower works from 20 countries/regions including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Myanmar, Italy and USA.  

Under the leadership of Haikou Customs District, Sanya Customs House provided efficient and orderly control and services for the flower festival. Through a designated work group, the Customs House actively coordinated with the Festival organization committee and undertakers in regard to exhibition arrangements, inspection and quarantine measures and facilities. Meanwhile, customs officers were stationed at the exhibition site to supervise the entry of flowers, making risk analysis based on their country of origin, variety, quantity, etc., and setting proper quarantine and test modes so as to ensure epidemic prevention.   

Up to now, the Customs has detected 10 kinds/times of pests out of the inbound orchids, including nematodes, colletotrichum and fusarium, and also formulated strict regulatory measures on all processes including article storage and destruction during and after the exhibitions.
