On July 1, the first day of implementing the Second Amendment of the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA), Yiwu Customs House, subordinate to Hangzhou Customs District, issued Zhejiang Province’s first piece of upgraded Certificate of Origin under the APTA to Zhejiang Hapida Import & Export Company Ltd.

The upgraded APTA Certificate of Origin applied by this Company was used for its export of goods to South Korea, involving textile garments like panties, shirts and jackets, totally valued at USD 77,500. As per the Amendment regulations, the goods with the APTA Certificate of Origin, when reaching South Korean ports, can enjoy import tariff reduction from 13% to 5% and concession value of USD 6,201.6, thus their export competitiveness can be greatly enhanced.

In the first half of this year, Yiwu Customs issued a total of 2,626 pieces of APTA Certificates of Origin, as the largest quantity in Zhejiang Province (except Ningbo City), with cargo value totaling USD 52.04 million. The Customs reminds that, after the Amendment takes effect, the origin criteria, rules and certificate format will respectively have changes and foreign-trade enterprises should timely understand those changes so as to timely get the policy benefits.
