On June 23, Minister Yu Guangzhou held a brief meeting with Mr. Ernest Moniz, Secretary of Energy of the United States in Washing D.C. The two sides exchanged views on negotiating and signing a cooperation document regarding preventing illicit trafficking in nuclear equipment and related dual-use goods, implementing the already signed MOU for Cooperation in Preventing Illicit Trafficking of Nuclear and Other Radioactive Materials, strengthening technical cooperation on Mega-port pilot project, and enhancing cooperation at the Radiation Detection Training Center jointly set up by both sides.
On the same day, Minister Yu attended the joint opening ceremony and the welcome banquet of the 7th Round of China-U.S. Strategic and Economic Dialogue and the 6th Round of China-U.S. High-Level Consultation on People-to-People Exchange. Minister Yu also attended a joint publicity activity on climate change.
