Minister Yu Guangzhou and Vice Minister Sun Yibiao Attend the 7th Customs Cooperation Sub-committee Meeting of China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting Committee

On October 11, Minister Yu Guangzhou and Vice Minister Sun Yibiao attended the 7th Customs Cooperation Sub-committee Meeting of China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting Committee in Harbin.

 

Minister Yu and Mr. Belyaninov, Head of Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation, jointly reviewed the implementation of customs cooperation projects since the 19th China-Russia Prime Ministers' Regular Meeting and the 18th Committee Meeting, summarized progresses on key tasks since the 6th Customs Cooperation Sub-committee Meeting, reviewed the reports from all working groups of the Sub-Committee, and discussed the future cooperation priorities and the agenda items and outcomes that shall be submitted to the 19th Committee Meeting.

 

Minister Yu made four proposals on enhancing the cooperation.  Firstly, both sides should focus on coordinating the building of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasian Economic Union, in order to put into practice the outcomes of the Forum for Heads of Customs Administrations Along the Belt and Road, while enhancing connectivity. Secondly, both sides should take actions to materialize the results of customs cooperation by fostering a facilitated and secured trade environment. Thirdly, both administrations should optimize the cooperation mechanism and advance the cooperation and coordination of all working groups to accelerate the launch of key cooperative projects. Fourthly, both sides should implement the outcomes of the meeting and speed up the negotiation on and signing of China-Russia Customs Cooperation Plan 2016. Minutes were signed after the meeting.
