During New Year’s Day vacation, Jiangmen Customs District cracked down on 4 smuggling cases, worth nearly CNY 15 million.
Early on the morning of January 1, Jiangmen Customs captured a batch of smuggled goods in Xinhui Yanan district, seizing 2 suspects and detaining 2 cars on the site. The two cars carried smuggled-in goods in 40 boxes including cubilose, electronic devices, batteries, and hard disks worth about 5 million yuan. Taishan Customs Anti-smuggling Department (affiliated to Jiangmen Customs District) seized smuggled-in Bentley and Rolls-Royce sedans, with the case value about 3 million yuan. On January 2, affiliated Heshan Customs House and Xinhui Customs House jointly acted with Heshan public security and tobacco control departments and seized two small-sized off-road cars at Heshan section of Jiangzhao Expressway: through inspection, 340 bottles of smuggled-in foreign wine, worth about 680,000 yuan, were hidden in the cars.
On January 3, the Customs Anti-Smuggling Department seized an oil-tanker smuggling at Taishan waters and captured 7 smuggling suspects and about 1,000 tons of oil products without legal certification, which were estimated worth 6 million yuan.
