Shijiazhuang Customs Seizes Crocodile Leather Belts Carried by Passenger
03/15/2019

Recently, Shijiazhuang Airport Customs House seized 8 pieces of illegal leather waist-belts in an inbound passenger’s luggage. The 8 belts, weighing 880 grams, were finally identified to be made from crocodile skin. Now, this case is under anti-smuggling investigation by the Customs.

In accordance with China’s Law on Protection of Wild Animals and Regulations on Import and Export of Endangered Wildlife, it is illegal to carry and post inward/outward any endangered species and their products without the Import/Export Permit issued by the Endangered Species Import and Export Management Office of China.

In 2019, China Customs will carry out the “Blue Sky 2019” campaign to fight against the inward/outward smuggling of endangered species and their products such as ivory, rhino horn, crocodile and pangolin.
