During April 22-24, Shantou Customs Anti-Smuggling Department sent out 18 batch-time police force to conduct anti-smuggling campaign. The police especially patrolled and besieged the bordering areas between Fujian and Guangdong provinces, non-customs wharfs and beaches, and finally seized about 219 tons of oil products and 10 tons of second-hand garment suspected of smuggling. This was the third centralized anti-smuggling action taken at midnight by Shantou Customs.

Since this year, based on “Sharp Sword 2016”joint operation, Shantou Customs has been intensively targeting key sensitive articles like oil products and frozen foods together with local Anti-Smuggling Offices as well as Food and Pharmaceutical Administrations. Till now, they have investigated 69 smuggling cases of oil products, worth CNY8,926,200, and 7 smuggling cases of frozen foods, worth CNY12.25 million.
