Nanning Customs Seizes Endangered Plants 600 Kilograms in Export
02/14/2019

Customs seizure of the endangered plant and its declaration document

Recently in Nanning Customs District, the subordinate Pingxiang Customs House intensively inspected a batch of Chinese medicinal materials to export, and seized 500 kilograms of Radix Glehniae Root that was falsely declared as Ladybell Root and 100 kilograms of Golden Cypress bark that was undeclared, the two materials worth 32,000 Yuan in total. Both Radix Glehniae Root and Golden Cypress are rare endangered plants in China, but the exporter failed to submit the import/export permit under CITES and China’s official permit for wildlife export.

At present, this case is under further investigation.
