Ningbo Customs Seizes 69.6 Tons of IPR-Infringing Tea to Export

In Ningbo Customs District, an outbound batch of IPR-infringing green tea, totaling 69.6 tons in 2,784,000 packs, was detained at subordinate Daxie Customs House on June 2. These export tea, worth 2,215,600 yuan, marked the largest quantity and value of exporting counterfeits in Ningbo since the beginning of “Soaring Dragon 2020” campaign.

 

On May 24, this batch of Chinese green tea was declared to Daxie Customs House for export to Senegal. Through field inspection, customs officers found all their packs printed with “THE KOUTAM” trademark and, as per requirements, contacted the trademark owner Huangshan Best Organic Tea Co., Ltd. for IPR confirmation. Finally, the largest export tea was confirmed infringing on the trademark right.  

 

Since February 15 with the “Soaring Dragon 2020” campaign, Ningbo Customs has seized 52 cases of IPR infringement with totally 4,310,600 pieces of various counterfeits valued at 6.02 million yuan, involving the famous brands of “NIKE” “ADIDAS” “LV” “GUCCI” “CHANEL” “DISNEY” “Marlboro” and “THE KOUTAM”.
