ADIDAS, PUMA, NIKE and CHICAGO BULLS, all well-known sports brands, are often imitated unlawfully by merchants. In March, Ningbo Customs-affiliated Beilun Customs House intercepted a batch of sports T-shirts suspected of infringing the above brands.

When inspecting the batch of T-shirt export to Iran, the officers found the branded ones looking abnormal. “These T-shirts are roughly packed and shoddily branded, feeling low-quality,” an officer said. “By carefully viewing, for example, you can find some shirts marked with ‘abibas’, instead of ‘adidas’.”

Through identification by trademark owners, those T-shirts, totally 1,200 pieces worth CNY16, 800, were infringing on “Adidas Originals”, “PUMA”, “NIKE” and “CHICAGO BULLS” intellectual property rights. Now, they have been detained by the Customs.
