On the morning of December 2, Dalian Customs District conducted a centralized harmless destruction of infringing goods, which totaled 1.03 million pieces including DVD, clothing, shoes, bags, medicines, and electronic products.
“Most of the destroyed were seized from 2010 to 2014, involving infringement on copyright and trademark right of such internationally famous brands as Chanel, LV, and BOSS,” told onsite by Liu Ying, Section Chief of Section of IPR Protection ,Dalian Customs. Because the printed infringing trademarks could not be wiped off, some even with the risk of harming human health, the Customs entrusted professional waste-treatment firms to destroy the goods by harmless means such as smashing, splitting and incineration, and got professional agencies to recycle scraps from the destruction.
Reportedly, this destruction action, involving 216 infringement cases cracked by Dalian Customs in recent years, was on the largest scale against infringing goods in recent 4 years.
