On the morning of November 17, the world’s largest ore ship named “Hong Yuan” successfully unloaded 344,000 tons of iron ore from Brazil at the Port of Caofeidian, Hebei Province and then left for Dalian, Liaoning Province. This ship is the largest among all vessels ever calling at the Port.
On the morning of November 15, the ore ship “Hong Yuan” called at Phase-3 Ore-Unloading Berth No. 5 of Caofeidian Port.To ensure smooth operation of the ship, officers of Caofeidian Port Customs Office(affiliated to Shijiazhuang Customs District) worked overtime at entry-exit declaration and unloading formalities of the ship, coupled with shipside operation control, thus made it berth and unload on arrival with zero waiting time.
The large ship, 360.97-meter long and 65-meter wide, with 388,000-ton deadweight, was loaded with 344,000 tons of Brazilian iron ore, hitting the largest record of Caofeidian and even the Bohai Bay. Its berthing will help fully release Caofeidian potential as a deepwater big port and enhance the port competitiveness and influence at home and abroad. According to Captain RISTELIC NEBOISA, it was the first time for him to navigate “Hong Yuan”, the world’s largest ore ship, into the Bohai Bay and visit Caofeidian, and he was much impressed with efficient clearance and hospitable service by the Customs.
To enhance Caofeidian Port's competitiveness, the Customs Office has for many years been making an easy and efficient customs clearance environment with facilitative measures such as pre-appraisal of prices, pre-classification of goods, inspection/release on bond, and 24*7 clearance reservation service, enabling enterprises to faster finish the clearance at fewer costs. From January to October, the Port had cleared totally 2,808 ships inbound and outbound with 119.67 million tons of cargos.
