Gongbei Customs Seizes Outward Old Coins of Cultural Relics
05/15/2017

A woman tried to pass Customs with her inherited old coins, but the coins were identified as cultural relics. Recently, Gongbei Customs-affiliated Zhakou Customs House seized a batch of old coins from an outgoing passenger, including 1 copper coin of Qing dynasty, 1 commemorative coin of Minguo times (i.e. former Republic of China), 5 silver coins of Minguo times, and 2 French silver coins of early 20th century. Through Guangdong Cultural Relic Identification Station, those coins are all cultural relics banned from exit by the state.

Before then, Gongbei Customs also seized 13 relics of the similar times, including 6 copper coins of Qing dynasty, 1 copper token of Qing dynasty and 2 silver dollars of Minguo times.
