Recently in Qingdao Customs District, the Post Customs Office intercepted 10 cases of modafinil, totaling 1,000 pills and 1.2 kilograms in a parcel sent from India. It was the first time that Qingdao Customs seized this kind of neural stimulant drug by post. 

Modafinil, similar to narcotics, falls under China’s first-class regulation on psychotropic substances. Now, the seized modafinil pills are detained under anti-smuggling investigation.

Customs reminder: psychotropic substances should not be carried or posted inward/outward only at will and they may be released in reasonable personal-use quantity on the basis of medical prescriptions.
