Customs interception of the disease/pest-infected pineapple
Recently, Tengchong Customs House in Kunming Customs District, when inspecting and quarantining a batch of inbound passenger-carried articles, intercepted a disease/pest-infected pineapple inside a piece of luggage. Then, through an immediate lab test, it was confirmed that the pineapple was infected with mealybugs -- a kind of quarantine pests, marking the first interception of this pest at Tengchong Port this year. Finally, in order to prevent such pest from entry, the Customs destroyed this batch of passenger articles as per relevant regulations.
