Qingdao Customs Helps Wine Export from Penglai
03/12/2019

Recently, under the control of Penglai Customs House subordinate to Qingdao Customs District, 12,000 bottles of grape wine were exported to South Korea by Penglai Wozu Winery, whose export of wine has totaled 75,000 bottles so far.

As one of the “seven grape coasts of the world”, Penglai (in Shandong Province) enjoys the climate and soil conditions suitable for producing high-quality wine grapes. In order to promote the wine industrial development, Penglai Customs has reached an agreement with local grape-wine industrial administration to share resources and information for joint control and services. The Customs actively provides policy and technological supports for local wineries regarding their import of grape seedlings, application of advanced quality management, coping with external technical barriers to trade (TBT), etc.

Nowadays, Penglai has 8 wineries with export qualification, exporting over 20 kinds of wine to a dozen foreign countries/regions including Britain, France and South Korea.
