On October 15, Vice Minister Zhang Jiwen met with Mr. Paul Glover, President of Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) in Beijing, China.

The two sides reviewed China-Canada cooperation on food safety,  animal and plant health over the years, mutually informed latest updates on reformative measures, and exchanged views on e-certificate cooperation and the signing of 2018-2019 Annual Cooperation Arrangement (Work Plan) between the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency on Inspection and Quarantine Initiatives.

After the meeting, Vice Minister Zhang and President Glover jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency regarding Food Safety and Animal and Plant Health Cooperation.
