Convenient Services Provided for First Global Trip
04/10/2015
On the night of March 1, 2015, 611 passengers were on board the cruise ship Costa Atlantica and started their 86-day long trip around the globe. They were the first ones who were lucky enough to trail the global route on a cruise ship that sails from its home port in China.

The global route on Costa Atlantica is the first around- the –world traveling route that was devised especially for Chinese passengers. Costa Atlantica will stop by 28 ports in 17 countries and return back to China on May 26.

To support the first global trip of Costa Atlantica, Wusong Customs House (affiliated to Shanghai Customs District) drew out a plan for the ship based on the information they managed to get beforehand, for example, the number of passengers who would be on board the ship. Customs officers made known to the passengers through Wechat the clearance tips and relevant policies and regulations. Also, taking into consideration that passengers might take along several pieces of luggage for the long trip and most of them were middle-aged and old people, Wusong Customs House worked closely and coordinated with the relevant departments at the terminal to optimize the relevant procedures so that passengers would not need to check and pick the luggage repeatedly. Through these efforts, Customs officers tried to make the clearance easy and fast for the passengers.
