Officers of Guangzhou Customs District are busy with the release of the Games-related materials as the 16th Asian Games are just around the corner. Guangzhou Customs District has employed special measures to ensure a smooth clearance for all the materials, which include one- stop services, the establishment of a specialized clearance service center and the use of the “declare at home, release at port” model (a cross- Customs districts clearance model under which qualified enterprises can firstly declare to the Customs administration with which they have registered and then have the goods released at the ports where the actual in and outflows of goods take place.) and the “Help Goods Transit” model. In the just over 7-day National Day Holidays, the Customs administration introduced the “release at appointment” method into the operation of the newly-established center and deployed more staff to the frontline control venues to provide 24-hour services for the materials.

In preparation for the 16th Asian Games, Guangzhou Customs District, taking into account the special features of the Games and the actual conditions of the inward materials, has adopted several tailor-made measures, trying to create a safe clearance environment for the Games by their quality and efficient services. Apart from the detailed clearance program and the one-stop services by the clearance service center and the innovative, convenient and standardized clearance model for the cross-customs districts goods, the Customs administration has established a control station for baggage in the athletes’ village for the convenience of the "family members" of the Games.
