Against the backdrop where the international financial crisis continues to spread and the trade protectionism gradually emerges, it has become a consensus of various nations and regions across the world to enhance the policy coordination, deepen the pragmatic cooperation, and collaborate to recover and develop the economy. Therein, trade facilitation has long been a priority of work and goal of pursuit for the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the World Customs Organization (WCO). To promote the trade facilitation, then is the inherent requirement out of Customs’ mandate.
With the progress of China – ASEAN Free Trade Area (FTA) construction, China and ASEAN countries, as the important trading partners, have witnessed fast development of economic and trade relations during the past years. In this respect, to actively advocate the trade facilitation between China and ASEAN countries is of great significance to further consolidate the gained cooperation fruits and advance the China – ASEAN FTA construction.
